About Halloween 2026
Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday, October 31. It is an observance rather than a public holiday, so businesses, schools and government offices keep regular hours.
Halloween, October 31, is a fast-growing observance in Australia but not a public holiday. Everything stays open, trick-or-treating is increasingly common in the suburbs — and because the seasons are flipped, it falls in late spring rather than fall.
