Spotted a date that looks wrong? Missing a holiday we should cover? Questions about the calendar feeds or the widget? Write to us below — corrections get checked against the official source and fixed quickly.
Reporting a wrong date
These are the messages we act on fastest. Include the page address, the holiday and the year, and if you can, a link to the source that proves it — a statute, a state personnel calendar, a government holiday schedule or a governor's proclamation. Every correction gets checked against the primary source before anything changes, so a link saves a round trip and usually gets the fix published the same week. If the date is set by annual proclamation rather than a fixed rule, tell us which year you are looking at; those are the ones most likely to drift.
Suggesting a holiday or a feature
The site covers public holidays and major observances in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. If a day that closes offices where you live is missing, we want to know. We deliberately do not cover novelty "national days" — there are thousands, and other sites do them better. Feature requests are welcome too: several of the tools here started as reader suggestions, including calendar feeds for individual states.
What we cannot help with
We are not a government agency and cannot tell you whether your particular employer is closing, whether your paycheck should include holiday pay, or how a holiday affects a legal filing deadline. Those questions belong to your HR department, your state labor office or a lawyer. We also cannot change a date because a company treats it differently — this site records what the law and the official schedules say.
Other things people ask
Advertising on this site is handled through Google AdSense; we do not sell placements directly, so advertising enquiries will not get a useful answer here. The countdown widget is free to use on any site, commercial or not, with no permission needed — the terms are on the widget page. Holiday dates themselves are facts and free for anyone to use; the articles are not, so please ask before republishing them. Messages usually get a reply within a couple of business days, and corrections are prioritised over everything else.
