About Recreation Day 2026
Recreation Day 2026 falls on Monday, November 2. It lands on a Monday, so 2026 brings a three-day weekend from Saturday, October 31.
Recreation Day is a public holiday on the first Monday in November for northern Tasmania only. It exists to balance the calendar: southern Tasmania gets Royal Hobart Regatta Day in February, so the north gets its own generic day off in spring.
