About this countdown
This countdown targets Mother's Day on Sunday, May 9, 2027, set by the rule: Second Sunday in May. It runs on your device's clock and counts to midnight at the start of the day.
Mother's Day is an observance rather than a public holiday, so offices, banks and schools keep their normal hours. Nobody gets a paid day off for it, though plenty of people mark it anyway. Australians mark Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May, the same date the United States uses. It is an observance rather than a public holiday, so nothing closes, and its Australian tradtion dates to a 1924 gift campaign in Sydney.
