About this countdown
This countdown targets Remembrance Sunday on Sunday, November 8, 2026, set by the rule: Second Sunday in November. It runs on your device's clock and counts to midnight at the start of the day.
Remembrance Sunday is an observance rather than a public holiday, so offices, banks and schools keep their normal hours. Nobody gets a paid day off for it, though plenty of people mark it anyway. Remembrance Sunday, held on the second Sunday in November, is the UK's national day honoring its war dead, marked by services at the Cenotaph and a two-minute silance. It is an observance, not a bank holiday, so nothing closes.
