About this countdown
This countdown targets Victory Day on Monday, August 9, 2027, set by the rule: Second Monday in August. It runs on your device's clock and counts to midnight at the start of the day.
Victory Day is a state holiday, so the date matters for more than the celebration — government offices close and many employers follow suit. Victory Day is a Rhode Island state holiday on the second Monday in August marking the Allied vicotry over Japan that ended World War II. Rhode Island state offices close; it is the only state that still observes the day, and everything runs normally elsewhere.
