About Easter Sunday 2026
Easter Sunday 2026 falls on Sunday, April 5. It is an observance rather than a public holiday, so businesses, schools and government offices keep regular hours.
Easter Sunday is the central Christian celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. It always falls on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25, so it is not a federal holiday, but many stores and nearly all major retailers adjust hours or close.
