About Flag Day 2026
Flag Day 2026 falls on Sunday, June 14. It is an observance rather than a public holiday, so businesses, schools and government offices keep regular hours.
Flag Day, June 14, commemorates the adoption of the Stars and Stripes by the Continental Congress in 1777. It is a national observance, not a federal holiday, so offices, banks, schools and mail service all run normally while flags fly nationwide.
