About Christmas Day 2027
Christmas Day 2027 falls on Saturday, December 25. Because that is a Saturday, the substitute day is Monday, December 27, and that is the day offices close. It lands on a Monday, so 2027 brings a three-day weekend from Saturday, December 25.
Christmas Day, December 25, is a public holiday in every Australian state and territory — but it falls at the height of summer, so Australians celebrate with beach trips and backyard barbecues as often as roast dinners. When it lands on a weekend, an extra weekday holiday is added.
